EASC09 Speaker: D.A. Henderson |

World renowned Scholar and Professor Donald A. Henderson will appear as a main speaker during the Tales from the Hot Seat, the last programme session of Day 1.
Dr. Henderson is a Distinguished Scholar at the Center for Biosecurity of UPMC and a Professor of Public Health and Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. He is Dean Emeritus and Professor of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and a Founding Director (1998) of the Johns Hopkins Center for Civilian Biodefense Strategies. From November 2001 through April 2003, he served as the Director of the Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness and, later, as the Principal Science Advisor, in the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. Dr Henderson’s previous positions include Director of the World Health Organization’s global smallpox eradication campaign (1966-77). In 2002, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. Dr. Henderson serves as an advisor to many organizations in the United States and abroad.

TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESENT YOUR WORK! |
EASC09 is for a large part organized in parallel break-out sessions, with four main topics headlining each session. For every break-out session two to three invited speakers will deliver presentations. Every speaker will be given 10 to 15 minutes of speaking time. This will be followed by a joint Q & A session.
Representatives from Academia, Industry and Government are most welcome to indicate an interest to give presentations of your ideas, work and research at parallel break-out sessions at the EASC09. If you wish to give a presentation, please submit an abstract and some additional information via the form below.

Conference Programme Updated! |

As you are aware, the conference programme is a draft version, which will in all likelihood undergo changes right up until the conference starts. This is the first update since the programme was published here on the website.
Programme theme number 4 has been changed to better reflect the challenges of the overall topic of this theme, namely command, control and interoperability.
The Maritime Domain Awareness theme is open for topics about the development of interoperable communications, standards and protocols for decision makers and emergency responders, cyber-security tools for protecting the integrity of the Internet, and automated capabilities to recognize, identify and analyze potential threats.
